Meet Lynne,

Lynne is a reputable recruitment consultant in the Knysna area where she has worked for the past sixteen years.


Based in Sandton Johannesburg for a number of years, she has an impressive track record and understands the fundamental principles to recruiting success. She was trained in the ‘old school’ method at Rhona Maclean & Co in Sandton, a respected Recruitment Consultancy, where standards were high and those working with this remarkable woman were not allowed to “cut corners”. This training ground has played a major part in the techniques that Lynne follows to this day and ensures that both the recruiter’s and potential employee’s requirements are suitably met.


Lynne worked half-day at Rhona Maclean & Co for many years while she also followed two other loves: her acting career and the marketing/media liaison of St Stithians College Campus, an umbrella structure which included five different schools ranging from Pre-Primary to Post-Matric. Working on this huge campus was one of the most exhilarating and demanding periods in her life and when her husband said that it was time to retire (what’s that?) to Knysna she brought with her this enthusiasm for her work; her desire to do the best that she could and the need to work her butt off!


Her acting career, which included an Honours Degree at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and 12 years on the British stage, in films and television, taught her perseverance; how lucky one is to have a job; how important it is not to let the showdown; and how to see through the veneer sometimes presented by candidates at interviews and to assist them to relax by giving them the confidence to be themselves. Above everything, the acting world taught her humility and discipline. It was a good learning curve in many ways.


Having completed a Private Secretarial Diploma in Durban before being allowed to go to the UK, and having won the Business and Professional Women’s award for the Most Promising Secretary (“not sure that I ever fulfilled that promise!”) Lynne was equipped to work temporarily in between theatre assignments: and experience gained therein diverse positions from a medical secretary to physicians in Harley Street, to a typing clerk in the huge typing pool of the Legal & General’s city branch (terrible job!), to working as a PA for seven architects at once, has since proved to be invaluable. There is little that Lynne doesn’t know or understand about admin and the characters that she met gave her a very real insight into the human mind.


Achievement combined with helping others reach their goal is all-important to her and she thrives on the challenges of finding the “right person for the right job”.


She is seldom off duty for her clients.
